Privacy policy

Last reviewed: 27 September 2026. This policy describes how RochakDuniya ("we"), operated by Rohit Tandon, Delhi, India, handles personal data under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).

1. What we collect

• Without an account: you can read, practise and take quizzes without giving us personal data. Quiz answers from visitors without an account are stored without your identity.
• Visit statistics: we count page views without cookies. We do not store your IP address; to count unique visits we keep a daily one-way code made from the address, the browser and a secret that changes nothing about you and cannot be turned back into the address.
• Account (optional): your name, email address and password (stored only as a secure hash), or your Google account's name and email if you sign in with Google; your test results, favourites and settings; and who created the account (someone 18 or older, or a parent or guardian for their child) and when.
• Newsletter and notifications (optional): your email address after you confirm it; browser push subscriptions if you allow notifications.
• Reports and messages you send us, such as "Report an error".
• Payments: there are no paid services at present. If they are introduced, payments will be processed by a payment gateway — we will receive the order status, not your card or bank details — and this policy will be updated first.
• Optional analytics: Google Analytics runs only if you accept analytics cookies.

2. Why we use it

To provide the service you ask for (your account, results, newsletter, notifications), to keep the site secure, to answer your messages and to understand which pages help learners. We use each piece of data only for the purpose it was given for.

3. Consent and your rights

Where we rely on consent (newsletter, notifications, analytics cookies), you can withdraw it at any time — unsubscribe links, browser settings or the cookie settings link in the footer. You may ask us to access, correct or erase your personal data, and to nominate another person to exercise your rights. Write to our grievance officer (see Contact).

4. Children

Many of our readers are school students. Anyone, of any age, can read, practise and take quizzes without an account and without giving us personal data. An account is for someone aged 18 or over, or is created by a parent or guardian for their child under 18: the parent or guardian confirms this when creating the account and consents to the child's use, and we keep a record of that confirmation. A parent or guardian can ask us at any time to see, correct or delete the child's data, or to close the account. If we learn that a child's account was created without a parent's or guardian's consent, we will delete it. We collect from a child only what the account needs; we do not track children, do not monitor their behaviour for advertising and do not show them behaviourally targeted ads.

5. Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run the site — hosting, content delivery and security (Cloudflare), email delivery and, if you allow it, Google Analytics — and only as needed, or when the law requires.

6. Storage and security

Data is stored on servers in India (Mumbai), protected by HTTPS, access controls and two-step sign-in for staff. We keep data only as long as needed: account data until you delete your account; backups for up to 30 days. Pages may also be delivered through Cloudflare's network, which processes technical request data (such as the IP address) in other countries to deliver pages quickly and securely.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies for signing in and security. Analytics or advertising cookies are used only after you accept them.

We will post any change on this page with a new review date.
